Equine Facilitated
Experiential Learning
Horses are prey animals, and therefore more conscious of body
language and energy levels than humans are. You’ve probably
seen at least one nature program where gazelles graze right next
to a lion. The gazelles (prey animals) continue to graze until
one of them ‘reads’ an energy shift in the lion. Then, like
a school of fish, the gazelles take off running—all at the
same time.
Apply this concept to an executive who acts like he or she is
confident and in-charge, yet isn’t confident enough to
pull-it-off in the workplace. The horse--by mirroring our true
nature--exposes the true leader from the false, the true team
player from the fake.
Applied to personal growth and creativity, the horse helps to
facilitate an authentic awareness of your personal truth, no
matter how many years of denial or programming you’ve had to
the contrary via outside influences or ego concerns.
