I'd like to introduce Darcy Carson, a writer and friend of mine who created a wonderful story for my Doublesight Kindle Worlds platform. I asked her a few questions about her book. I think you'll find this interesting. —Terry
How did you come to be interested in the Doublesight Kindle World?
You gave me the first Doublesight book to read and critique and I became hooked on the story and characters.
How does your story link to the Doublesight series?
Zimp is visiting her cousin in a village when a Fire Death victim is found.
The Doublesight world is basically an Earth-like world, with shape shifters who shift into Earth animals, whether mythic, real, or extinct. What animals do you write about and why?
The Fire Death Dilemma is set in Hea, a village with deer and deer fly doublesights, who hide in plain sight from the human only.
Tell us a little about your main character. Why do you think readers will like him or her?
Gia is a deer doublesight. She’s been wounded by a hunter and when she shifts she finds a human only man dying of the Fire Death. Unwilling to leave him to die alone, she stays with him, only to have him still alive the next morning.
What major theme or idea comes across the clearest in your story? Is this theme found in your other work?
Probably prejudice is the main theme.
Share some of your story about becoming a writer.
My background is romance, published in romantic comedy. Guess that means I have a warped sense of humor.
Do you have a background in writing?
I like to this so. You have to walk to run and you have to read to write. Of course it helps if your mother was a librarian.
What makes you interesting outside of your writing?
Me, myself and I. I'm married, three grown sons, five grandkids and one chubby Poodle that I share with my sister. Retired from Boeing, used to help husband run his engineering company. Love to travel, lots of cruises.
What are you working on next, aside from another piece for the Doublesight Kindle World?
The next piece for Doublesight will be The Journey Back about Korban, a human only from The Fire Death Dilemma. That said, my other projects are a romantic fantasy series set in an earth-like world where dragons are returning after being gone for thousands of years, a contemporary romance series about witches who act as the magic police, and a cozy style mystery series called the Vestal Virgin Murder Mysteries.
